In the past several years, nanoparticles and nanocrystals have been studied intensively for drug delivery, bioassay and bioimaging applications, . Both organic and inorganicnanocrystals have been successfully developed as therapeutic and diagnostic tools. Alternatively, electrospinning has proved to be an easy, effective and versatile technique to fabricate one-dimensional nanomaterials. Kim et al. recently used an aminolysis method to breakdown electrospun nanofibers with the goal of preparing nanocylinder fragments.
