Polycarbonate/poly(butylene terephthalate)/glass fiber (PC/PBT/GF) composite is a very attractive composite because of its ease of fabrication,economy and superior mechanical properties. The main problem of the PC/PBT/GF composite is poor compatibility at the fiber/matrix interface. In order to obtain good adhesion at the interface,silane coupling agents were applied. Mechanical properties were correlated with the morphology. Therefore,the fracture surface morphology of short glass fiber reinforced thermoplastics has often been used to assess qualitatively the degree of fiber/matrix interfacial adhesion. In this work,three types of silane coupling agents were used to obtain better adhesion. The morphology observed by SEM shows the better adhesion between glass fibers and polymer matrix.
