Polymers with highly branched architecture provide advantages of high density of terminal groups available for attachment of functional groups. Such macromolecules are useful in variety of applications calling for self assembly of materials. Hyperbranched macromolecules combine properties of multifunctional dendrimers with compliant architecture and versatility in chemical structures. At the same time, lower costs of hyperbranched polymers makes them extremely desirable candidates for industrial applications. In this report, we present synthesis and self-assembly of amphiphilic hyperbranched polyesters with modified shells.
