A cogeneration system can generate the electric power and employ the exhaust heat as energy for heating and cooling systems. Thereby a high overall energy efficiency can be realized. In case that "Ebullient Cooling Type" engine is adopted as a generator, the low pressure steam (0.18MPa) is generated from the coolant for the engine. And this low pressure steam's more efficient use has been desired. On the other hand, in steel wire manufacturing plants, the waste hydrochloric acid containing a lot of iron is discharged from the acid pickling process before plating products. And the disposal of this waste acid is the problem in this kind of industries. In such a background, by using the waste heat from a cogeneration this system enabled the volume reduction of the waste hydrochloric acid and the recovery of the active hydrochloric acid, realizing the resource conservation and energy saving as follows. This system: 1. Can reduce the amount of the hydrochloric acid to be procured in steel wire manufacturing plants through recovering and recycling the active hydrochloric acid from the waste hydrochloric acid by not less than 70%. 2. Can reduce the volume of the final waste to about one third by concentrating the waste hydrochloric acid. 3. Can contribute to the reduction in CO_2 emission by the effective utilization of the waste heat from a cogeneration.
