摘要

Low band gap polymers have attracted attention due to their high transmissivity to visible light in the conductive form and the ease at which they can be both p-and n-doped.Poly(isothianaphthene),having a band gap ca.1 eV lower than poly(thiophene) was the first reported and most prevalent example of a low band gap conjugated polymer.This low band gap has been explained by the stabilization of the quinoidal form of the polymer imposed by the fused aromatic ring.
