Ispat Ruhrort-Germany High Speed casting technology for specialty steel billets

Innovative technologies applied to the conticaster at Ispat Ruhrort have made it possible to cast special steels at high speed with excellent metallurgical results; this is mainly thanks to the special mould design, the secondary cooling system and the straightening unit, which provide optimal lubrication, soft cooling and soft straightening that determine the excellent quality of the billets produced. The results obtained represent an important step in continuous casting technology for billets in special steels.
