Single-plug pneumatic conveying of bulk solids in a vertical pipeline

摘要

Using the principles of powder mechanics and a packed bed model, this paper presents a semi-theory to predict pressure drop and plug velocity in vertical single-plug pneumatic conveying of bulk solids. Numerical values are predicted by the semi-theory and compared with experimental data for two materials with different physical properties. The agreement is very good.
