Delamination kinetics of four ZRP with the same OPVC (65 vol. %) and different commercial quality of MIO as barrier pigment has been investigated by means of electrochemical noise (EN) measurements during immersion tests (168 hrs in 0.05 M NaCl). The results indicated that for some type of filler and epoxy binder combination it can be supposed the chemically bonded fillers/binder interface retards the diffusion of water with O_2 and Cl~- to the coating/steel interface. This improvement restrains the development of electrochemical reactions at the coatings/steel interface with impact on slowing down delamination rates for this type of coatings.
