An in situ Scanning Vibrating Electrode Technique (SVET) was used to investigate the influence of the amino acid, L-tryptophan, on the kinetics and mechanism of localised corrosion occurring on unpolariased zinc (Zn) samples immersed in a 1% (w/v) aqueous sodium chloride electrolyte.
