Guidelines for Determining Set-up Conditions in High Precision Centerless Grinding

摘要

Centerless grinding is very sensitive with set-up conditions due to unique work-holding features, and gives excellent performance only under proper set-up conditions. This paper describes that there are three stable criteria that should be satisfied with set-up conditions and presents guidelines for determining proper set-up conditions in order to avoid spinner, chatter vibration and roundness problems. Also, the algorithm for giving the optimum set-up condition is proposed.
