摘要

A method to control the mean shape of metallic nanoparticles prepared by self assembly of atoms on substrate surfaces is presented. It relies on manipulation of the growth process by irradiation with nanosecond laser pulses. Additional post growth laser irradiation results in a considerable narrowing of the shape distribution of the particles.
