A European view on Liquid feeds with particular reference to the UK market

The aim of this paper is to outline the scale of European Agriculture and look at the role liquid feeds play within the market with particular reference to UK agriculture. Like the rest of the global agricultural market Europe has existed in a marketwhere molasses has been relatively un-competetive as a conventional energy source when compared to the cereal market. Currently in the UK cereals are trading at 90 pound (130 dollar) on farm while cane molasses is trading at 105 pound (150 dollar). At this price differential molasses sales are not easy. The paper will high light areas where we as a business and the wider molasses industry attempt to overcome the price differential and grow the on farm molasses (liquid feed) market.
