European perspective of liquid feeding systems for pigs

I am Gertjan Ruis, working as a 'nutritionist liquid feed' for Hendrix-UTD (a Nutreco company) in the Netherlands. With 25 percent our company is market leader in the liquid feeding segment in the Netherlands. Besides the Netherlands we are also wellknown in Germany and Belgium. I worked for 8 years in the pig industry and from the beginning only with piggeries which use liquid feeding systems. For 3 years I worked as a salesman for Bonda's Veevoederbureau, Hillegom, selling mainly liquid wheat starch, coming from Cargill, the Netherlands. Then I worked for 4 years as a by-product specialist at De Heus Brokking Koudijs, Ede, a feed company. From 1st of January 2001 I work for Hendrix-UTD as a nutritionist liquid feed. All those years I was closelyinvolved with liquid feeding systems, their technical possibilities, costs and technical results in pig industry.
