This paper addresses the problem of the autonomous on-board execution of the higher mission critical functions of Uninhabited Combat Air Vehicle -UCAV. In order to achieve high autonomous operation throughout the most critical portions of the UCAV's mission cycle, both platform related functions as well as mission related functions has to be automated and autonomously managed. The UCAV's onboard Autonomous Mission Controller -AMC is designed to handle these aspects, namely, to manage and to execute both the platform related functions, as well as the more complex mission critical functions. The related AMC's processes and the associated methods are described and discussed in the paper.
