Development and Evaluation of Clinical Protocol to Study Visual Behaviour with Progressive Addition Lenses (PAL) and Single Vision Spectacle Lenses

The use of a system that tracks eye and head movements, in real time applied to visual tests representative of every day visual tasks makes it possible to detect differences in visual behaviour while using PAL and single vision corrections. It is proposed that such a tool be used to quantify the influence of individual PAL designs on visual behaviour. Such information would be of greater clinical significance to practitioners than the optical based iso-astigmatic and iso-spheric maps.
