The application of passive cooling systems is beneficial in two aspects: energy-saving and environment-protection. However, these systems are not yet widely accepted, not only because of the restricted cooling energy source that is subject to natural weather conditions, but also the more important problem of energy-storage. In this paper, the nocturnal ventilation cooling system is used, as an example, to propose a solution for better energy storage result, where a new building material with phase-change material in it is to be developed.
