MANEUVERING COEFFICIENTS FROM MODEL TEST FOR FPSO'S STATION KEEPING BEHAVIOR

摘要

In this paper the yaw-rotating test is used associated to a directional stability test to establish a maneuvering model for a stationary FPSO. From physical reasons and experimental data, some basic terms are prescribed to describe the force and moment model. Firstly, the present work intends to review briefly the maneuvering models, which have been developed by a long time in the context of the Naval Architecture specifically in Ship Maneuvering. Subsequently, it describes the experiments that have being recently performed at IPT (Sao Paulo State Towing Tank), with the objective of defining the cited coefficients. However, the generated data, require very careful interpretation to yield consistent models. That is, the results depend on the chosen model and their intrinsic properties, as will be shown inclusively by stability analysis. A proposed new procedure is included.
