This paper will discuss the development of new innovations within our laboratory practices to enhance our ability to serve our end users. It will also address the use of a change management process in a Metrology Laboratory. For the examples set out in this paper, our ongoing project will be referenced. The project for these developments was labeled PowerLabs 2010, but had impacts reaching well beyond the year 2010. It is also important to discuss the aspects of implementing change in a Metrology laboratory. Describing the process required to implement change, from the initial recognition of the need for the change, all the way to the performance indicators created to gauge the effectiveness of the change process.
