Two advanced non-contact measuring methods, such as strain field measurement based on digital photo-grammetry technique, and thermoelastic stress analysis have been applied to detect the information on the surface of glass woven fabric composites containing a circular hole that are subjected to tensile loads. The strain or stress fields on the specimens were investigated for evaluation on micro-damages in loadings. The both measurements clearly showed strain or stress concentrations at the specific locations near the circular hole. A comparison of the damage fields obtained from thermoelastic stress analysis with strain field measuring results is also discussed. It is obvious that the output of these methods gives us the characteristic information on the principle of measuring method to understand the deformation and damage behaviors in woven fabric composites.
