The effect of fiber treatment on the mechanical properties of kenaf fiber reinforced plastics was investigated. Treatments including alkalization and the use of silane coupling agent were conducted. On the basis of a detail analysis, the relationship between fiber treatment and performance of kenaf composites was proposed. Effect of fiber contents on the flexural properties was evaluated, and morphological study was done on fracture surface by SEM. Modulus increaced, but strength decreaced, which was recovered at high content.
