摘要

Using an analytical model on the non-Newtonian fluid transport through a cylindrical tube in peristaltic motion, the digested material movement through digestive tract in peristaltic motion is investigated. Inside of the wall we have assumed there is a Newtonian fluid layer which is a substitution of the digestive fluid, and the inner digested material is supposed to be a non-Newtonian fluid having a yield stress: The inner digested material contacts with the inner wall of intestine sandwiching an intervening Newtonian fluid between it and the wall. Results indicate that these effects vastly depend on the thickness of the thin intervening Newtonian fluid layer inside the vascular wall as we can intuitively predict and we have derived the explicit representation of the radius of the core region inside of a stenotic vascular wall as well as the pressure gradient produced by the peristaltic motion.
