A quasi-3D sediment transport model of cohesive sediments, which is named "WD-POM", was applied to an intertidal flat in the Ariake Sea to investigate the sediment transport process at the calm condition. Numerical results gave a good agreement with observation results of the tidal elevation, current velocities and the bottom sediment concentration. Sediment budgets on the intertidal flat were calculated by using the numerical results. In addition, WD-POM was improved to calculate wave-induced currents by using radiation stress terms and the wave dissipation term. Test simulations were conducted and numerical results were revealed. They were adequate results in terms of qualitative analysis.
