摘要

Water constructional works was conventionally executed with the methods of cofferdam and island constructing. In construction of Laibin Power Plant in Guangxi, the method of embedded floating caisson was developed. That was: blasting and excavating the foundation under water, backfilling and leveling, manufacturing the members on a dock, floating and positioning the members, pouring concrete to fix the members, grouting water-stopping curtain and excavating the connecting tunnel. The new technology resulted in greatly decreasing the construction difficulties and reducing the costs.
