The paper presents recent research results of mechanical properties, especially the creep behaviours of artificial frozen soils under uniaxial and triaxial stress conditions together with mathematical models. Some interesting results are given in the paper of centrifuge modelling of soil frost heave and thaw settlement on the beam centrifuge at Cambridge university in UK and on the medium-size centrifuge at Tsinghua University in Mainland China respectively. Then some recent application of AGF in Mainland China is given to illustrate practical considerations of frozen soil mechanical properties, and frost heave and thaw induced settlement. The paper summarizes finally all necessary considerations for application of AGF in practice in 21st century, together with its disadvantages.
