Integrated Research and Education Program Related to Abrasive Flow Machining

摘要

This paper describes the research and educational activities performed under the NSF CAREER Award No. DMI-9701941. Research tasks included the further development of an acoustic emission monitoring system for Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM), and its application to flow controlled machining of automotive engine components. Cooperative educational activities were completed between the AFM equipment manufacturer, Extrude Hone Corporation, and students from the University of Nebraska.
