Management of canker and gummosis diseases of citrus with chemicals

Thirteen treatments including stem painting and soil drenching with aerial spraying thrice in a year were tried for the management of canker and gummosis diseases of citrus during 1994 to 1997. Highest canker control was observed in the spray application of streptocyclin 100 ppm + copper oxychloride 0.2 a.i. during June, August and December. The gummosis was effectively reduced in the treatments of Bordeaux paste painting on basal trunk as well as soil drenching of Ridomil MZ or Aliette (12 g/5 lit W/tree) during the period mentioned in canker control.
