Proton-conducting inorganic(SiO_2-Heteropoly Acid)-polymer(Poly(vinyt alcohol) hybrid electrolyte for direct methanol fuel cell

The hybrid PVA membrane modified with sulfur-succinic acid (SSA),which contains -SO_3OH has been prepared for proton-conducting membrane for direct methanol fuel cell.The membrane was laminated with inorganic (silica-heteropoly acid (HPA)) membrane.Fig.1 shows the postulated reaction mechanism between PVA and SSA.PVA membrane,modified with SSA was very stable in aqueous solution.
