The use of electrochemical methods for the oxidative removal of organic pollutants from wastewater has attracted much attention in the past years(1-4).It has been shown that compounds such as phenol can be removed from aqueous solutions using tin oxide anodes doped with antimony(1).Since then a large range of other anode materials has been tested(2-5).This electrochemical process is carried out at high anodic currents at which the O_2 evolution reaction(OER)also takes place.
