In order to supplement electrochemical methods and obtain complimentary information on kinetics of the surface faradaic processes,in-situ optical spectrophotometric techniques based upon ac potential modulation has recently attracted a lot of attention.In UV-VIS reflectance spectroscopy,a monochromatic light beam is reflected from a mirror electrode,and the change of the reflected beam intensity in response to the ac potential modulation applied to the electrode is monitored as a function of either the wavelength of light (A)or the DC electrode potential.
