Electrochemically modulated liquid chromatography (EMLC)has been demonstrated in the past as a viable method for manipulating the retention time of analytes based on applied potential.A challenging new aspect of EMLC is the on-column modification of the carbon stationary phase materials.We have recently employed two methodologies to functionalize the surface of carbon stationary phases after they are packed into an EMLC column.
