There is basically no limit at the high velocities as far as the Mossbauer spec-troscopy is considered. Very low velocities require low repetition frequencies of the spectrometer and their calibration suffers from the low count rate of the TTL pulses. Due to the fact that a basic laser frequency cannot be increased significantly one has to use multiple scattering with a well defined index k. However, standard multiple scattering interferometers, e.g., Fabry-Perot or Lummer-Gehrcke devices cannot be used as the multiplicity k is poorly defined for them.
