Ecological modeling and coupled exponential maps

In the past decade alone more than 5000 articles have been published on the chaotic behavior of dynamical systems [11]. Such studies cover a wide range of subjects including ecology,economics,biology,chemistry,engineering and other physical sciences.In nearly every nook and corner of science and technology,chaos has been reported.The number of such reports is furthermore increasing at a rapid rate.But common experience indicates that most physical systems,even nonlinear ones,seldom behave erratically and are usually not highly sensitive to initial conditions.
