RAPIDS Mobile Source Enhancements for the RAPIDS Air Toxics Emissions Inventory System

The Great Lakes Commissions (GLC) has enhanced the GLC version of the Regional Air Pollution Inventory Development System (RAPIDS) by the addition of capabilities to calculate air toxics for mobile sources. The mobile source enhancements include the implementation of: 1) on-road mobile source emissions estimates capabilities using MOBILE5 and PART5; 2) the non-road emissions estimates using NEVES data; 3) aircraft emissions estimates using FAEED; 4) FIRE 6.0 emissions factors; and 5) mobile source growth algorithms. In addition a number of general enhancements were made to the emissions estimator subsystem, the import/export function and the reporting capabilities. The new features of the system are being used to develop a 1996 air toxics inventory for the Great Lakes Region.
