Device for generating cold plasma used in the degradation of toxic gases such as NOx and SO2 resulting from mobile and fixed sources, like automobiles and heaters and further combustion systems. The invention is a device which uses the dielectric barrier and corona effects for generating a homogeneous plasma, which is able to cover substantial volumes of plasma resulting in gas removal percentages higher than 90%. The cold plasma is characterised in that it requires low values or electric power for the operation thereof. This device is not the exception and due to its geometrical characteristics a power lower than 20 watts is required to be operated, the usage efficiency being higher than 90%. The electrical, geometrical and operational characteristics of the device turns the invention into a device suitable to drastically reduce the costs that industries invest in reducing polluting gases for complying with the environmental standards.
