The presents work estimates the daily emission of total hydrocarbons (THC). carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), Participate Matter less than 10 micrometers (PM10) and sulfur dioxid (SO2); originated by the mobile sources highways that circulate in Mexico City Metropolitan Area (MCMA). In the same way, the daily saving of emissions like consequence of the application of the program denominated "Hoy No Circula"(HNC, Don't Drive Today) is evaluated. This program restricts circulation of vehicles once a week. The application of the HNC program in MCMA means a saving of 137 ton/day of THC, 1632 ton/day CO, 81 ton/day NOx, 4.8 ton/day PM 10 and 5.6 ton/day SO2.
