The authors will present new information aboutthe development of white light curable binders for theCompForm process. The speed of cure and the depth of curewill be ar-ed and compared to the UV curable binders currentlyin use with the CompForm process. The results of theinvestigations into comparisons with the UV curable bindersfor relative stiffness and required percentage of use as afunction of the weight of the fiberglass will be presented. The changes in design of equipment will be discussed as wellas any advantages or disadvantages of white light curingsystems with respect to use. Conceptual schematics will bepresented of various approaches to illuminating the curingstations for manufacturing cells for high volume production of preforms.CompForm is a preforming methodology allowing for the I-speed manufacture of preforms using virtually any fiberglassreinforcing material. This technology is specifically suited forstructural applications and complex preforms where differenttypes of reinforcing materials are used in combination andlocations to provide maximum properties at lowest weight and cost.
