WET COMPRESSION FOR GAS TURBINES: POWER AUGMENTATION AND EFFICIENCY UPGRADE

Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation has been working to develop new technologies for adaptation to a growing fleet of gas turbines. Gas turbine modernization and upgrade will be key to maintaining competitiveness in a deregulated market. One of the technologies marketed by Siemens Westinghouse is Wet Compression, a method of safely injecting significant volumes of water into the compressor for continuous operation with maximum performance gain. Wet Compression is a patented technology licensed by Siemens Westinghouse from The Dow Chemical Company.
