摘要

Present paper summarizes results obtained at the Department on Oxidation in the above Institute performed studying the mechanism and kinetics of photodynamic effects applied in medicine. In addition to Type I. and II. mechanisms, Type III, mechanism has been suggested being an interaction between excited triplet photosensitizers and native free radicals generated in tumor cells. Supporting experimental results using laser flash photolysis, chemiluminescence and ESR techniques are briefly described.
