Determining how well the achieved velocity of a vehicle compares to the commanded velocity is an important consideration for Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV), as the increased electronics and electrical components no longer follow industry "rules-of-thumb" and the increasing electrification results in complex interactions that affect performance in unexpected ways. Using a multi-domain conserved physical simulator, many companies are turning to HEV system modeling to simulate these interactions and determine how closely the achieved velocity compares to the commanded, for nominal values and with realistic statistical tolerances enabling optimization on critical components to provide a robust system despite component variation.
