摘要

In the automobile industries rubber materials for sealing was traditionally EPDM, but recent years material have been changed from EPDM to TPE, because of weight saving & cost reduction. Compare to EPDM, however, TPE material has high initial stiffness & visco-elastic behavior, stress-relaxation as shown in fig1. As per this material behavior, TPE Materials are not suitable for sealing materials. So new engineering design methodology need to be suggested to overcome these disadvantage.
