Effect of Ignition Specification on Combustion Performance of Spark Ignition Engines

摘要

The purpose of this paper is to study effects of ignition coil specification (current, duration and energy) on the combustion performance of spark ignition engines. To clarify the background of the requirement of higher ignition energy, the test conditions were stratified combustion and stoichometric combustion with EGR. The results showed that the combustion stability of stoichometric combustion with EGR at lower load needs the higher ignition energy.
