A new continuous analyzer to measure SO{sub}2 and other sulfur components in the vehicle exhaust gases has been developed, utilizing the Ultra Violet Fluorescence (UVF) detection. The UVF is well known as a method for sulfur components detection, however it is hard to measure sulfur components in engine emissions using the UVF, due to significant interference from NO and HC. In this paper, various techniques have been convinced with the UVF detection to achieve sulfur components with low interference and high sensitivity.
