The Development and Application of Nylon Lubricating Coating Used in Transmission Shaft Spline of Heavy-duty Track

If transmission shaft spline used in heavy-duty (HD) trucks will results in dynamic-balance and noise problem, in some extreme over-loaded conditions, it will cause parts failure. After the examining transmission shaft spline of Benz ATGO prototype truck, selecting the nylon powder, taking pretreatment to the substrate parts, using electrostatic spray equipment, etc, producing a nylon lubricating coating on the shaft spline. After finishing two bench tests and 50000km filed tests, it is clear that the nylon coating both have better anti-wear and dynamic-balance ability.
