Development of measuring method for vehicle deformation on actual driving and consideration of vehicle body deformation mode on driving

A measurement method for automobile body deformation on actual driving is proposed. Ring shaped displacement transducer is combined with a thin wire to measure the subtle change of distance between two points of automobile body. By comparing the measurement of body deformation with simulation considering the effect of body deformation using ADAMS, it has been verified that the body deformation is estimated fairly good in simulation, and the effect of local deformation is much larger than global deformation such as body torsion.
