Development of rain sensor for automatic windshield wiper system

摘要

Recently, needs for automatic wiper system are increased with awareness for more safety vehicles. We have developed a light reflection type rain sensor that can make direct detection of raindrop adhesion on a wiping area of a windshield. We alsohave made an ideal design for optical sensing system, and built up algorithms for wiping modes based on the quantification of detected rainfalls in order to meet an operator's expectation for wiping rain.
