The data in a Cadastral Information System or Land Information System can be generally classified as two types: Graphic (or spatial) and Attribute. With a huge amount of geometrical and attribute data and complicated relationships between them in such a system, it is very important to manage these data in a well-organized data structure for fast and efficient operation. minimization of data redundancy and maintenance of the system. Such a wellorganized data structure also helps keep the reliable link between graphical and attribute data, and interactive operations of them. A Cadastral Information System is an information management system based on graphical data, and graphical (or geometrical) data possesses particular polygon characteristics. Therefore, a topological data structure can by created from the parcel information and its boundary intersection co-ordinates with other parcels that are derived from cadastral investigation. The paper will introduce the methods of building topological data structure using about mentioned information and discuss the issues of its practical use. The paper also proposes a method for updating Cadastral information System, which is a question puzzled for long time for the system developers.
