Cooling power enhancement of CPC (compound parabolic concentrator) sky radiator

A compound parabolic concentrator (CPC) type sky radiator was proposed to greatly enhance the sky radiation cooling performance. The authors have demonstrated that the CPC sky radiator has by far the better performance for cooling power than the conventional flat plate type. However, the reflector contour of the previous CPC sky radiator was originally designed as the solar collector, not as the proper sky radiator. Therefore, in this article, improved CPC sky radiator with improved reflector was proposed. The results demonstrate that the new type CPC sky radiator shows much the better performance in cooling power than the conventional one.
