AUXIGRO~(R) WP EFFECTS ON LOW DESERT COTTON RETENTION, YIELDS AND QUALITY

Several rates of AuxiGro~(R) WP were evaluated during field experimentation during 2002-2004. Effect of crop development in relationship to rate of AuxiGro~(R) WP was evaluated during expanded testing in 2003. Data from 2002 indicated that AuxiGro~(R)WP treatments by itself resulted in reduced yields, thought due to the inadequacy of plant to supply needed nutrition in response to rapid increased growth as treatments that included fertilizers increased lint yields and values/acre. Significant increases and rate responses for fruiting structure retentions were noted from AuxiGro~(R) WP treatments applied at first boll in 2003, but not at first flower. Sequential applications of 4 oz./acre of AuxiGro~(R) WP resulted in numerically less retention thana single application of this treatment at either timing. Highest yields were noted from treatments with the 4 oz/acre rate of AuxiGro~(R) WP. Application of 4 oz./acre of AuxiGro~(R) WP + 1 qt/acre of CalMax in 2004 resulted in three additional fruiting nodes and 10% more
