An investigation of microphone techniqe sfor ambient sound in surround sound systems

A controlled subjective test was carried out to asess selected qulaiteis of three ambinetn mixcrophone techniques for surround sound.the effects of signal delay and microphone distance were elxored.The tests indicate tha thte perceived results are porgramme dependent,but that a compromise cna be found using deelyae close microphones,giving similar quality for the range of porgamme items used.
