This paper proposes that pregnant liquor from sinter leaching in soda-lime sintering process is subjected to carbonization end thus obtained raw Al(OH){sub}3(high silica content) is processed with very simple Bayer process. With this newtechnology, sandy alumina with high quality is produced in siring process; the amount of recycling alumina in process decreases by about 180 kg/t-Al{sub}2O{sub}3; the amount of sinter decreases by about 0.5 t/t-Al{sub}2O{sub}3; process control is easierthan before; the consumption of CO{sub}2 gas for carbonization increases by 3.65% only; the operation cost of inserted simple Bayer process is compensated completely by the cost of current desilication operation which is canceled in new technology. Newtechnology can decrease production cost by 82.87 yuan/t-Al{sub}2O{sub}3 and increase output of alumina by 75 Kt/year.
